Can you suggest a venue?
Yes. Venue research is part of the planning when you need it.
Most bridal showers are hosted by someone who is not the bride: a mother, a sister, a friend, a group of friends. Maeve plans the shower for the host, so the bride is celebrated and the host is not up at midnight folding napkins.
Discuss the shower
The host should be a guest.
LUNCHEONS / TEAS / GARDENS
A luncheon in a private dining room. An afternoon tea. A garden shower. A shower at the host's home. Each asks for different things, and the right one depends on the guest list and the season.
A shower is small enough that design shows. The linen, the plates, the flowers, the candle line and the paper should read as one idea rather than a collection of pretty things. Maeve designs the tablescape and menu presentation, sources florals and rentals, and produces invitations and signage to match.
Setup before guests arrive, a simple running order for gifts, toasts and lunch, and breakdown afterward. The host is a guest.
Six to eight weeks ahead is comfortable. The fee is set in writing after a first conversation. Venue, food, florals and rentals are paid directly by the host.
