06 / International WeddingsMaeve Kelly Atelier

International destination wedding planning,
led from the United States.

A wedding abroad is two projects: a beautiful celebration, and a logistics plan that has to work in another country, another language and another set of rules. Maeve plans weddings in Italy, France and elsewhere in Europe from the United States, with the local partners who carry each part named from the start.

PLACE / GUEST JOURNEY / LOCAL DELIVERY

01Before choosing a country

Compare atmosphere and practical requirements.

Begin with the atmosphere, travel expectations, guest count, timing and working budget. Venue and destination research can compare practical requirements before a location becomes a commitment.

Local knowledge and qualified regional partners are part of a workable delivery plan. We do not imply a permanent team in every destination.

02Venue due diligence

A beautiful property is only the beginning.

Advertised capacity does not necessarily describe a comfortable seated dinner, an indoor rain plan or the production footprint required for the wedding you are planning. Accommodation, airport and transfer burden, ceremony rules, access, curfew, required partners and local restrictions all affect whether a venue truly works.

Research should make unknowns visible. When a material fact cannot be confirmed, it remains a question for the venue rather than becoming an assumption in the plan.

03Italy and France

Italy and France

In Italy, a villa or a masseria that looks perfect online may have a noise curfew, a limit on outside caterers or an access road no coach can climb. In France, a chateau's capacity for a standing reception is rarely its capacity for a seated dinner with a rain plan. Maeve researches properties and partners directly, in Italian and French, and brings every unknown back as a question for the venue rather than an assumption in the plan.

04Across the weekend

One plan across arrivals and departures.

Welcome gatherings, wedding events and departures can be connected through one creative and logistical brief. Each person should receive the information relevant to their role.

05Local responsibility

Who does what, abroad

Maeve Kelly Atelier leads the plan, the design and the guest experience. Local producers, venues and specialists carry the work that must be done on the ground and under local rules, and the proposal names each of them. Legal marriage formalities stay with the appropriate authorities and your advisers. We do not claim a permanent team in any country.

06Responsibilities

Know who books what.

The proposal identifies travel research, booking responsibilities, local partners, site visits, onsite days and travel costs. Legal marriage formalities, immigration, tax and specialist travel requirements remain with the appropriate authorities and advisers.

DIRECT ANSWERS

What people ask first.

01

Do you travel?

Travel can be arranged for an agreed engagement, subject to feasibility and approved costs.

02

Can you help before we choose a country?

Yes. Destination and venue research can be scoped as a first step.

03

Is a buyout completely private?

No. Access, staffing, local rules, neighboring spaces and supplier practices still require review.
