Planning and design
Maeve develops the plan, the research and the visual direction. You approve decisions and handle vendor follow-through.
Maeve Kelly Atelier plans weddings in Charleston and the Lowcountry for couples who want to keep the decisions, not the project management. Maeve leads every wedding herself, from the first venue conversation to the last guest leaving, and takes a limited number of U.S. weddings further afield each year.
Discuss your wedding
Keep the decisions that make the wedding yours. Hand over the work behind them.
CHARLESTON / LOWCOUNTRY / UNITED STATES
You do not have to begin at the beginning. If the venue is booked and the photographer chosen, we start from there.
Maeve develops the plan, the research and the visual direction. You approve decisions and handle vendor follow-through.
Vendor communication, scheduling and the planning work move to Maeve. You keep the decisions assigned to you.
The wedding held together from the larger decisions through the last dance: budget, venue, vendor team, design, guest experience, timeline and the day itself.
For a wedding already planned, Maeve takes over two weeks before and runs the day. Bookable online.
Day-of coordination includes a structured two-week handoff, a 60-minute logistics meeting, review and refinement of the existing timeline, essential confirmations with up to 10 booked vendors, and eight consecutive onsite hours with one lead coordinator.
It does not include vendor sourcing, negotiation, budget management, wedding design, RSVP management, seating-chart creation, extensive setup, furniture movement, catering labor, cleanup or breakdown. Rehearsal coordination is $175, an additional coordinator is $250, and additional approved lead coverage is $125 per hour.
Creative direction connects what you love into one coherent design: the room, the chairs, the linen, the flowers, the candlelight and the paper, read as one composition. It can be part of planning or bought on its own.
Guests experience a wedding as a sequence: the welcome, the rooms, the rehearsal dinner, the ceremony, the reception, the farewell brunch. Planned as one story, each gathering has its own character and the transitions disappear.
A family property is never simply a venue. Access, neighbors, the household's routines and the careful return to normal afterward are planned from the start.
Historic venues, waterfront settings, private residences, resorts and barrier-island properties each raise different questions about access, weather, setup and how guests move. Those are considered alongside the design, not after it. We plan throughout Charleston, Mount Pleasant, Daniel Island, Johns Island, James Island, Sullivan's Island, Isle of Palms, Folly Beach, Kiawah Island, Seabrook Island and the surrounding Lowcountry.
Maeve Kelly Atelier considers weddings elsewhere in the United States by arrangement, with travel, local partners and site visits named in the proposal. We do not imply a permanent office or team in each place.
Every wedding receives a written scope with one fixed planning fee after a first conversation. Partial planning begins at $4,500 and full planning at $10,000; day-of coordination is $1,500. The fee follows the work: how many events, how many guests, how much is already decided, and how many days Maeve is onsite. Venue, catering, florals, photography and every other vendor are contracted and paid by you directly. There is no travel fee within 45 minutes of Charleston. Beyond that, travel is quoted before you sign.
For full planning, twelve to eighteen months ahead gives the best choice of venues and vendors in Charleston's spring and fall seasons. Planning and design, or partial planning, can begin later. Day-of coordination can be booked for open near-term dates.
The complete planning structure, creative direction, vendor team, working budget, guest journey, production, contingency planning and running the day. The exact scope is shaped around your setting, your existing vendors and the number of events.
